The game

What is Eclipsed Realms?
A dark medieval-fantasy, open-world cooperative action RPG. You wake as an impossible survivor in a realm built over a broken supernatural prison, and your choices decide who you ally with and what you become.
Is it finished?
No. It is in development. Everything on this site describes the current development build, and parts of it will change.
When does it come out? How much will it cost?
We have not announced a release date or price. When we do, it will be here first.
What platforms?
It is being built for Windows PC. We have not announced any other platform.
Is there a Steam page?
Not yet. When there is one, a wishlist button will appear on every page.

Playing

Can I play with friends?
Yes. A campaign supports up to four players: two on one PC in split-screen, and more joining over a network. There is also a PvP arena hub for up to eight, with team matches from 1v1 to 4v4.
Is there an arena mode?
Yes. Arenas on the main menu opens a hub where you can fight solo duels and 2v2 to 4v4 team battles against NPC fighters, or PvP team matches with up to eight players. Everyone fights at level 100 with random equipment each round, and nothing carries back to your campaign.
Can I play over the internet?
Not yet. Today, online play covers local networks and direct-IP connections. Internet sessions through an online service are planned but not enabled. Co-op has been tested on one PC with several game processes; two separate computers have not yet been tested.
Does it support controllers?
Yes. Every flow is designed to work on gamepad as well as mouse and keyboard, including split-screen. Xbox-style controllers are the most tested. The main inputs are listed on the combat page.
How do saves work?
Each campaign lives in its own save slot. A new campaign takes the first empty slot and never overwrites an existing save. Save, Load and Delete are on the pause menu and the main menu.
What happens when I die?
You wake at the nearest Cursed Doll at full health, keeping your experience, attributes and perks. In co-op the others keep playing.
What settings are there?
Audio, Video, Gameplay, Input and Accessibility, including text size. The settings screens are still being finished.
Do I have to pick a magic school?
No. Holy, Blood and Dark are three traditions you can learn, and each has its own price. Dark has permanent consequences.
Can I change the story?
Your choices, allegiances and motives change what happens and how people treat you. Some story events are fixed on purpose. We do not promise every outcome can be prevented.

This site

Are the screenshots real?
Yes: every screenshot is a capture from a development build. Many use placeholder characters and test environments, and are labelled that way. The artwork on the home page is illustrative site art, not gameplay.
Why do some pages ask me before showing story?
Pages marked as containing spoilers hide their text until you choose to reveal it.
I want to cover the game.
