Beasts of the Field

Not everything in the realm is trying to kill you. Goats, deer, moose and cows graze the farmland around the villages and the edges of the Forest.

They are also the first animals a would-be handler learns to tame. Hold still, keep your nerve, and a goat or a deer will join you: it follows, fights at your side, levels with you, and can be revived for a few minutes if it falls. With practice the same craft reaches bears, Mutant Bears and, eventually, the Minotaur.

You can keep one companion at a time. Choose with care.
