Start Village

A farming village with a tavern, a gallows and a Priest. The first ordinary place you see, and the first to feel wrong.

Start Village looks like what it is supposed to look like: farmland, a tavern, a barmaid who has seen worse.

“You look as though the road tried to bury you. Looking for a bed, or looking for someone?”

It also has a public gallows, a square where people gather to hear the Priest, and a feeling that the lamp-light is not for your benefit.

This is where the player first learns the rhythm of the game: talk, listen, decide, and be remembered. Everything you do in front of people is seen and weighed. Rumours travel faster than horses.
