The Forest
A wide wilderness of caves, camps and abandoned places, stranger the further you walk from the road.
The Forest is not a corridor between settlements. It has its own population of hunters, thieves and travellers, and its own appetite.
Animals here are not always what they were. Some are merely wounded; some have been turned into things with the wrong number of legs. In the deeper places, antlered shapes move between the trees.
There are caves, abandoned structures, and an empty settlement that tells its story in what is missing from it. Some quests start here with a boy who has lost his way, and the road home is the least of the problems.
